woofportrait.com was
founded in 2007 by Tibi Hegyesi, a visual artist
living and working in Toronto, Canada. It is
a site that celebrates through art the unique
relationship between people and their pet dogs.
As an animal lover and a dog owner, Tibi was inspired to make portraits
of his beloved Pekinese named Pixel and not before long many of his friends
were asking him to have their dogs immortalized on canvas as well.
What makes Tibi's pet portraits stand apart from the others is not only
his proven artistic ability to draw and paint in a contemporary and realistic,
yet non-photographic style, but also his capability to capture the “inner
soul” and the personality of his models, those very specifics that set
each individual dog apart from the others.
